.SHORT TERM...
(Rest of today through Sunday)
Issued at 345 PM EDT Sat Apr 11 2026
Model guidance show broad/widespread ridging dominating the SE
CONUS and the Florida peninsula in the wake of a trough/front
passage, with a sfc ridge firmly in place around northern Florida.
Meanwhile, SoFlo is expected to remain in the SW periphery of the
high pressure circulation, keeping the area under a robust NE
flow through the short term. Some breezy/gusty periods are
possible, especially during the afternoon hours around the
Atlantic coastline.
Weather conditions in general should remain benign as drier air and
subsidence establish over SoFlo. Latest MFL sounding data show PWATs
dropping below 1 inch, a trend that should continue at least through
early next week. Any coastal shower that makes it over land should
be quick and short-lived.
Afternoon temps are expected to remain in the upper 70s to low 80s
for the Atlantic side of SoFlo, while interior and western portions
should reach the mid-upper 80s each day. Nighttime lows should
remain in the low-mid 60s inland, and around 70 near the coasts.
&&
.LONG TERM...
(Sunday night through Friday)
Issued at 145 AM EDT Sat Apr 11 2026
Upper level ridging and surface high pressure will remain stagnant
across the region through at least the middle of next week,
preventing longwave troughs and frontal boundaries from approaching
the local area. Long range ensemble guidance also maintains a lack
of deep moisture for South Florida with PWATs below 1 inch and dew
points peaking in the low to mid 60s. This will result in mainly dry
conditions for South Florida but remaining breezy through Tuesday
especially along the Atlantic coast. After Tuesday, the high
pressure in the northeast begins to weaken and thus the overall
pressure gradient relaxes and results in lighter winds for the
middle to end of next week. This stagnant pattern may last all
the way through the end of next week.
Daily high temperatures each day through the middle of next week
will be on a slow uptick with highs ranging from the upper 70s to
low 80s across the east coast metro and mid to upper 80s across SW
FL through Tue/Wed. By the end of the week, highs across portions
of SW Florida could reach the low 90s with the east coast metro
rising into the mid 80s.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 628 PM EDT Sat Apr 11 2026
VFR expected to continue during the next 24 hours at all terminals
as high pressure remains in control of the area. Winds remain
moderate tonight from the ENE, then gusty again after 14Z.
&&
.MARINE...
Issued at 145 AM EDT Sat Apr 11 2026
Hazardous marine conditions will continue across the Atlantic
through this weekend while dropping off for the Gulf. ENE winds 20-
25 kts with gusts around 30 kts are expected for the next several
days for the Atlantic with seas of 6-9 feet. Gulf seas during this
same time frame are expected at 2-4 feet for the next few days.
&&
.BEACHES...
Issued at 145 AM EDT Sat Apr 11 2026
Strong persistent easterly flow will result in a high risk of rip
currents for the Atlantic beaches through this weekend.
In addition, dangerous surf conditions may linger today for the Palm
Beaches with 6-10 ft waves possible in the surf zone.
